Financial Advisor Overview

I always start out with a paid financial plan with any new client. For one, no one works for "free". Any "free" plan you've gotten was more than likely a sales presentation or such a quick plan that it didn't really give you much of an idea as to how to manage your finances and retirement effectively. Worse, these 'free' plans are a way for advisors to hopefully manage your investments later for a fee, to recoup the 'free' plan costs. I look at it this way: 1- A 'free' plan doesn't do much for you and could be riddled with conflicts of interest, even if from a "fee only firm". 2- If you fail to plan you plan to fail. 3- A quick plan really doesn't show what an advisor can really do and if you can trust him or her. Let alone, give you any real indication of how well they will manage your money. 4- Not every client is looking for an advisor to manage their money, many just want and need actual advice! 5- Which leads me to this, while I don't have an asset or income minimum, I do have an ongoing financial plan/advice fee minimum which is $1,000 per year minimum. Regardless of client income or assets. And my planning fee is based off of 1% of your gross income. Please add me on LinkedIn or go to my website to learn more about me, how I work with my clients and types of clients I work with, and more about my fees.
