Financial Advisor Overview

After being in the industry a few years, it became quite apparent to me that if you weren’t getting ready to retire and/or had at least $1,000,000 in investable assets, you weren’t going to get much help from the majority of financial planning firms out there – and if you did, most likely it was going to be the same generic advice they give to anyone no matter their situation. With that being the case, I wanted to create a practice that was centered on working with individuals who didn’t exactly fit that mold, but were certainly on their way – the truly overlooked and underappreciated. So that’s exactly what I did in creating NextGen Wealth, where we cater to successful Generation X/Y professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners (typically born after 1960). It’s been an exciting calling as I’ve been able to build a great financial planning practice working with individuals and families who are all going through similar situations and share many of the same needs, wants and goals. Plus, we’re one of the select few firms in the United States that specifically caters to this awesome group of individuals. While we do specialize in serving Generations X and Y, we commonly receive referrals from our clients to work with their baby boomer parents (and we're happy to do so). If you happen to fall into that category, we are always happy to set up an initial conversation to ensure we're a good fit. Be sure to check out our video and new client guide below. Also, check out our website and subscribe to the newsletter (great money tips and other advice). There are some really cool financial planning calculators on the there too. Finally, make sure to follow our NextGen Wealth company page on LinkedIn. Full Disclosure: While I have been in the financial planning industry since 2001, I’ve just begun the process of working towards my CFP® (Certified Financial Planner). In this field, you can never stop learning. “Will your Financial Advisor retire before you do?”

Financial Advisor Experience

Who am I? It seems like I can be many different things depending on the da, I’ll stick with my professional title of Financial Planner (although you could go with Financial Advisor, Financial Consultant, etc., but they’re really all one in the same). I’ve actually been in the financial planning and financial services industry here in Kansas City since 2001. It’s all I’ve ever known as a career choice and I hope it stays that way for as long as I’m capable. So if you are still reading my profile (appreciate it), you’re probably thinking to yourself that you know all kinds of financial planners or financial advisors and most seem to be no different than the next. I would agree with you in that assertion as it’s definitely true for many individuals in the financial planning field. With that said though, please check out my experience below and I will do my best to differentiate myself. I am married to my best friend, Christa. We live in Lee’s Summit, MO and I grew up right down the road in Raymore. Christa actually grew up in Wichita and crazy enough I actually knew her parents before I knew her. We love food, wine, and hanging out with friends. Thanks again for viewing my profile and I hope you check out the rest.
