I help people who are planning to retire within the next five years or are already retired. At Dovetail Financial, I work with married couples and single women, including widows, on retirement income, investments, Social Security and pension choices, tax-aware retirement decisions, healthcare costs, and family and legacy priorities. My approach, Human-First Financial Guidance®, starts with understanding what is changing in your life, why a decision matters, and what you want your money to support. I then evaluate the financial choices, explain the tradeoffs and recommend a path. We revisit decisions as your circumstances change. I hold the CFP® and CeFT® credentials, co-authored Shaping Change: How to Respond When Life Disrupts Your Retirement Plan with Susan Bradley, and previously taught Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits in the CFP® curriculum at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. For portfolio-management services, Dovetail Financial generally requires $500,000 in assets under management. This minimum is negotiable under certain circumstances. It is separate from typical client assets and is not a blanket requirement for financial-planning-only or consulting services.
