Certified Financial Planners have a proven blueprint for success—but your planner builds it entirely around you.

Summarized from the CFP® Board's Practice Standards. cfp.net
I think of financial planning as a long-term relationship, not a transaction. My clients tend to come to me in the middle of real decisions: a job change, an equity grant they’re not sure what to do with, a parent who needs help, a retirement date that’s suddenly getting close. My job is to help them see the whole picture and make those decisions with confidence. As a CFP® professional at Vawter Financial in Columbus, I work across the full range of a client’s financial life, including investment management, tax planning, retirement income, Social Security and Medicare timing, education savings, insurance reviews, and estate coordination. I spend a lot of time on the details that are easy to overlook, like when to sell company stock to get the best tax treatment, how to fix a backdoor Roth that didn’t go quite right, or how to keep a retirement withdrawal from triggering higher Medicare premiums. I also don’t work in a silo. I coordinate directly with my clients’ CPAs, attorneys, and insurance professionals so everyone is working from the same plan and nothing falls through the cracks. What you can expect from me is straight talk in plain English, quick responses, and a plan that actually reflects your life rather than a template. I’d rather you understand why we’re doing something than just take my word for it. Whether you’re early in your career or well into retirement, I’m here to help you make smart decisions and feel good about where you’re headed.
