Summarized from the CFP® Board's Practice Standards. cfp.net
Financial planning doesn’t have to feel complicated. I start by understanding the full picture: what you own, what you earn, what you’re working toward, and the financial decisions that are currently competing for your attention. From there, we organize the moving pieces and develop a financial plan based on your individual circumstances and goals. Depending on your needs, planning may include investment management, retirement planning, tax considerations, insurance, estate planning, and other financial decisions. When appropriate, I can also work alongside your CPA, estate attorney, and other professionals as part of the planning process. My approach is ongoing and personal. Circumstances, tax laws, markets, and priorities can change over time, so we can revisit the plan as appropriate rather than treating financial planning as a one-time exercise. I also believe it’s important to understand the reasoning behind the recommendations we discuss. You don’t need to become a financial expert. My role is to help make complicated financial decisions feel a little clearer and provide information and perspective as you consider your options
