Certified Financial Planners have a proven blueprint for success—but your planner builds it entirely around you.

Summarized from the CFP® Board's Practice Standards. cfp.net
At some point, managing your financial life becomes a job in itself. There are investments to oversee, tax decisions to make, estate documents to keep current, insurance to review, family priorities to consider, and professionals who may or may not be communicating with one another. Most of our clients do not want to coordinate all of that themselves. They want someone they trust to keep the whole picture organized, identify what deserves attention, and ensure important decisions do not get lost in the details. That is how we work. We begin by understanding what matters most to you, your priorities, responsibilities, family, goals, and the decisions you see ahead. From there, we help establish priorities, coordinate the moving parts, and create a clear path forward. Our work goes well beyond investment management. We help bring together the financial, tax, estate, insurance, charitable, and family considerations that often overlap in important decisions. When appropriate, we also coordinate with your attorneys, accountants, and other professionals so you don't end up serving as the go-between. What makes our approach different is the level of involvement. We do not simply provide recommendations and leave you to manage the follow-through. We stay engaged, revisit priorities as circumstances change, and help keep the financial work moving forward. Our clients value thoughtful advice, different perspectives, mutual respect, and a collaborative relationship. They are also comfortable delegating responsibility when they trust the people advising them. The result is greater clarity, better coordination, and less time spent managing financial details. You should know what matters most, what happens next, and who is responsible for getting it done.
