Summarized from the CFP® Board's Practice Standards. cfp.net
I start by getting to know the person behind the finances—what matters most to you, what you’re working toward, and what’s causing you the most uncertainty. From there, I help organize the different pieces of your financial life and turn them into a clear, practical plan. I believe good financial planning should be collaborative and easy to understand. I take the time to explain the “why” behind recommendations, answer questions, and make sure you feel comfortable with the decisions we’re making together. As life changes, the plan should change with it, so I view financial planning as an ongoing relationship rather than a one-time conversation.
