Financial planning isn't one-size-fits-all. I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate the complex financial crossroads of life, focusing heavily on these unique groups and the major moments that define their journeys.
Business Owners

Your business may be your largest asset. Start exit planning years ahead so the sale fits your retirement and tax plan.
Pre-Retiree

Plan your retirement income 5–10 years out. That window gives tax and Social Security decisions the most room to help you.
Retirees or Seniors

Know which accounts you'll draw from and in what order. Your withdrawal sequence can change how much of your savings goes to taxes.
Early Retirement or Financial Independence

Plan for the gap years before Medicare and penalty-free withdrawals. Health coverage and cash flow are the two big pieces.
End of Life and Legacy Planning

Check your beneficiary designations every few years. They override your will, so an outdated form can send money to the wrong place.
Retirement Planning

Retirement planning is income planning. Know where each dollar of your future paycheck will come from and how it will be taxed.
Certified Financial Planners have a proven blueprint for success—but your planner builds it entirely around you.

I'm Ben Loughery, CFP®, CRPC™, founder of Lock Wealth Management, a fee-only fiduciary firm in Midtown Atlanta serving clients nationwide. Before starting the firm, I spent 10+ years at Capital Group and Invesco. Today I help people five to ten years from retirement, recent retirees, and business owners turn their savings into dependable, tax-smart retirement income. Every plan starts with your income: how much you'll need, where it will come from, and the most tax-efficient order to draw it. From there, I coordinate Social Security timing, Roth conversions, RMDs, and your investment mix so each decision supports the others. What to expect: plain language, clear recommendations with the reasoning behind them, and a written plan we review together every quarter, with ad hoc check-ins whenever something comes up in between. Financial planning is offered as a flat monthly subscription, and you don't need to move your money to start. Most clients meet by video or phone, and in-person meetings are available at our Peachtree Street office.
