Our approach starts by listening. Before we make recommendations, we want to understand the full picture of your financial life—what you’ve built, what matters most to you, what concerns you, and what you ultimately want your wealth to accomplish. Through our proprietary Helmstar Wealth Clarifying Process, we help define the “why” behind your financial decisions before focusing on the “what.” From there, our team develops a deeply integrated financial plan that brings together investments, retirement, taxes, estate planning, risk management, business interests, charitable goals, and other important areas of your financial life. Planning doesn’t end when the plan is created. We work alongside you to implement recommendations, coordinate with your other professional advisors, and continually adjust as your life, goals, and circumstances change. Our goal is to bring greater clarity to complexity and help you spend less time managing your wealth and more time on what matters most to you.

Certified Financial Planners have a proven blueprint for success—but your planner builds it entirely around you.

Summarized from the CFP® Board's Practice Standards. cfp.net
We work with individuals, families, and business owners who want more than someone to manage their investments. Our services tend to be most valuable for clients with $1 million or more in investable assets, particularly when their financial lives involve greater complexity, important decisions, or multiple areas that need to be coordinated. We start by getting to know you—what you’ve built, what matters most to you, the decisions you’re facing, and where you may need greater clarity or coordination. Our team-based approach is an important part of how we serve clients. Rather than relying on a single advisor, we bring together the experience and perspective of multiple professionals across financial planning, investment management, and client service. This provides continuity, broader expertise, and a more complete view of your financial life. From there, we help bring the different pieces of your financial life together. That may include investments, retirement planning, tax strategy, estate planning, charitable giving, risk management, and planning around a business or major liquidity event. For clients with more complex financial lives, one of the most important things we do is help coordinate the other professionals involved—CPAs, attorneys, insurance professionals, and others—so that the advice you receive works together rather than existing in separate silos. What we believe sets our practice apart is the combination of sophisticated planning, a collaborative team, and a highly personal relationship. We take the time to understand the details, stay involved as circumstances change, and help clients think through important decisions before they make them. You can expect thoughtful advice, clear communication, and an ongoing relationship focused on helping you make good decisions with your wealth—not simply managing a portfolio.
