Summarized from the CFP® Board's Practice Standards. cfp.net
I believe great financial advice starts with understanding you, not just your portfolio. My process begins with a conversation about what matters most to you; your family, career or business, priorities, concerns and the decisions ahead. From there, we bring the pieces of your financial life together and develop a personalized roadmap around your goals. What sets our practice apart is the combination of a personal advisory relationship with the broader resources of Mariner. As your advisor, I remain at the center of the relationship, supported by my local team and with access to Mariner professionals and capabilities across wealth planning, investment management, tax planning and preparation, estate planning and trust services, risk management and business-owner solutions. Our conversations can go well beyond, “How did my investments perform?” We can help you think through retirement timing and income, tax strategy, concentrated stock, estate planning, a business sale, wealth transfer and other important financial decisions. When appropriate, we can also evaluate a broader investment toolkit, including customized equity and fixed-income strategies, options strategies, structured notes and private investments. Clients can expect a clear process: understand your goals, organize your financial picture, analyze alternatives, develop and implement a personalized plan, and monitor and adjust it as your life changes. We can also coordinate with your CPA, attorney and other professionals so the different parts of your financial life work together. Ultimately, my goal is to become the person you call before making an important financial decision. Markets, tax laws, careers, businesses and families change. My role is to help you understand your choices, simplify complex decisions and bring the appropriate resources to the table so your wealth remains aligned with the life you are trying to build.
