Financial Advisor Overview

At American Private Wealth, I believe financial planning should be about more than investments and numbers—it should provide clarity, confidence, and a thoughtful strategy for the life you want to build. As a fiduciary financial planner, I take the time to understand each client’s circumstances, priorities, concerns, and goals before recommending a course of action. My approach is deliberately personal and practical. I believe good financial advice should be understandable, grounded in common sense, and tailored to the individual—not driven by products, headlines, or Wall Street noise. Whether helping clients build wealth, prepare for retirement, manage risk, or navigate complex financial decisions, my role is to bring perspective and help them make informed decisions with confidence. I founded American Private Wealth to provide the kind of independent, relationship-driven advice I believe clients deserve: thoughtful planning, straightforward communication, and advice aligned with their best interests.

Financial Advisor Experience

I have spent decades working in financial planning and financial education, with a career centered on helping people understand money and make better financial decisions. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and fiduciary financial planner, I bring a comprehensive perspective to wealth management, retirement planning, investment strategy, tax-aware planning, risk management, and the many financial decisions that arise throughout a client’s life. In addition to my work as a financial planner, I have been a professor of finance for nearly three decades. Teaching finance has reinforced one of the principles that guides my practice: sophisticated financial concepts do not need to be complicated to be useful. My job is not simply to provide answers, but to explain the reasoning behind them so clients can understand their choices and make decisions with confidence. That combination of practical financial planning experience and nearly three decades of teaching finance shapes the way I work with clients today: analytical when it needs to be, straightforward when it should be, and always focused on the client’s long-term interests.
