With Mike's experience in the financial services industry beginning in 1996, he has worked for firms such as Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch, and Sigma Financial before establishing RFC Financial Planners as an independent CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. In addition to serving his own clientele, from May 2002 to July 2007, Mike was also retained as a consultant in the case planning department of Sigma Financial Corporation. He provided training, advice, investment strategies and financial planning recommendations to approximately 1,200 investment professionals across the country. As "The Planner's Planner", Mike had the opportunity to effectively address a wide variety of unique planning challenges. From the best ways to not outlive one's money in retirement, to transferring wealth with a minimum of taxes while maintaining maximum control.
Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Eastern Michigan University and continues involvement in the university's accounting/finance alumni association. He has also been actively involved with the Financial Planning Association of Michigan chapter serving as an elected board member, the membership committee co-chairperson, and the practice management / technology day co-chairperson. Mike enjoys playing co-ed softball, with interests in art, music, traveling, and beer & wine making. Mike resides in Plymouth, MI with his wife Nicole.
